Angelo Maci of the famed Cantine Due Palme winery is a great ambassador for Italian wine, especially from Puglia. His efforts have just been recognised at home in the form of the prestigious Barocco Award, a coveted title given to those who promote Italian culture overseas - previous winners include Pavarotti, Sophia Loren and Pope Benedict XVI. And Villa Quinziana is one of the most popular reds in Angelo's portfolio.

Prosecco is the UK's favourite fizz, and no wonder when it's as refreshing, elegant and palate cleansing as Decanal from Casa Girelli. Founded in the 19th century, Casa Girelli has stood the test of time by devoting itself to producing consistently high quality wines. Today their wide portfolio of wines is sold throughout Italy and around the world.

American financier Clarence Dillon visited Bordeaux in 1934 and fell in love with world famous Château Haut-Brion. The estate wasn't then in peak form, but that didn't put him off one iota. Certain it was the jewel of Bordeaux, he bought it and so started his family's long commitment to the region and fine wine. In 1983 they purchased La Mission Haut-Brion, next door, and the family have since extended their portfolio to other areas of Bordeaux.

The Rothschild name is "synonymous with prestige, history, respect and remarkable wines" (Robert Parker). Three branches of the family have impressive portfolios of estates not only in France, but across the globe. Yet it was only in 2001 that they decided to work together to craft a Champagne worthy of bearing the family name. Using their extensive range of contacts, they were able to create this complex assemblage - 60% Chardonnay, primarily from Grands Crus in the Côte des Blancs, and 40% Pinot Noir, chiefly from Verzany, Ay and Bouzy.

Wine Advocate's Neal Martin was full of praise for this third generation family producer when he had the chance to taste through the delicious 2015 vintage: "Drouhin continues to demonstrate what a class act they have become." Maison Drouhin was founded 130 years ago and is now run by the four grandchildren of the original owner. Their magnificent portfolio extends from Chablis in the north to the Côte Chalonaise.
