Martin Lawrence and Eddie Murphy play it surprisingly straight in this film by director Ted Demme. Though there are laughs to be had, this is a story about perseverance in the face of a life of disappointment (yet the film was sold as a prison comedy). But Stir Crazy this isn't. Rather, Lawrence and Murphy play a couple of New Yorkers making a moonshine run from New York to Mississippi during the Prohibition who find themselves framed for murder and sentenced for life to a prison chain gang.
A quirky drama with moments of startling originality, Life: Season One concerns Charlie Crews (Damian Lewis of Band of Brothers), a cop who spent 12 years in federal prison for murders he did not commit. Exonerated by DNA evidence, Charlie receives a multimillion-dollar settlement for his troubles and returns to his old job, though now as a detective.
Robert Pattinson and Dane Dehaan star in the biographical drama about a struggling photographer who is assigned to work with the rising Hollywood star James Dean. The story follows Magnum Photos Agency photographer Dennis Stock (Pattinson) on his assignment to profile the relatively unknown actor James Dean (DeHaan) prior to the release of his film 'East of Eden' (1955).
